Giorgio Armani + Samsung = B7620 Windows Mobile 6.5 Phone

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Unlike the previous phones that were the fruits of similar collaborations by Samsung and Giorgio Armani, here comes a smartphone that’s as capable as its competition as well as being fashionable. The B7620, with a price tag of €700, runs Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5, features a full touchscreen 3.5-inch AMOLED display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5MP camera, GPS, 8GBs of internal storage and a microSD slot for further memory expansions. Previous fashion phones by Samsung were appealing to the eye but were poorer in terms of usability. This one seems to win both ways. Check out the videos after the break…

A Cameraphone or A Phonecamera? The Samsung SCH-W880

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

This has been in the rumour mill for a while, but not it’s official. The SCH-W880 is the world’s first phone with 12MP camera and optical zoom. Samsung managed to fit in 3x optical zoom as well as 720p video recording capabilities into the decent looking shell as well as Xenon flash for capturing subjects beautifully in lower light conditions. The image recording capabilities of SCH-W880 opens the debate of whether the W880 is a cameraphone like its older siblings, or it belongs to a whole new category of devices, namely “Phonecamera”s. Korea will be first to find out, and it seems we’ll keep drooling for a longer period of time…

Samsunghub.com managed to grab the specs of the W880:

Network: WCDMA (2100 MHz); GSM(900), DCS(1800 ), PCS(1900) Roaming
Display: 3.3” WVGA AMOLED

Terrestrial DMB (Mobile TV)
Connectivity: Bluetooth® 2.0, USB 2.0 HS (micro USB)
Internal memory: 4GB
External memory: Micro SD (up to 32GB)
Battery: 1,100 mAh
