This one’s only a rumour, but as GSM Arena’s stated, it’s too important to pass on. According to Bloomberg, Nokia is planning to acquire Palm, which despite having an R&D budget of a tenth of Nokia, managed to develop a touch-ui OS that is more fluid and usable than Nokia’s own. Precentral.net reports that Palm Pre is bound to meet O2 Germany customers by fall this year, rather than the previously known time period “before the end of the year”. I, for one, am eagerly waiting for Palm’s comeback device and OS to hit the continent!
